You will meet your guide at 09:00 AM at your hotel or Cruise Port. Together, you will walk or drive to the Old City. This is a full-day walking tour, as all the locations are within a 5-minute walking distance from each other.
The tour begins at the Hippodrome, which was a center for sports activities and ceremonies, famous for its chariot races during the Roman and Byzantine eras.
After the Hippodrome, we will visit the Blue Mosque, the second-largest mosque in Istanbul, built during the Ottoman period. It is known for its blue Iznik tiles and is the only Ottoman mosque with six minarets.
Next, we will visit Topkapi Palace, which was the main palace of the Ottoman Sultans until 1856. The palace houses many famous exhibitions, including the Imperial Treasury, where an 86-carat diamond is on display. From the palace, you will also enjoy a splendid view of the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn.
After this, we will take a lunch break and continue to Hagia Sophia, one of the most important buildings in world architectural history. Originally built as a church by the Byzantines and decorated with mosaic tile icons, it later served as a mosque during the Ottoman era. You will be amazed by standing inside a 1,500-year-old structure.
The tour concludes with a visit to the Grand Bazaar, the largest bazaar in the world, featuring 52 small streets and over 4,000 shops.

This is a special tour that includes some of the most unique places in the city, many of which are difficult to visit on your own. The tour will take you to the roots of historic Istanbul, with visits to the monuments of Byzantine and Ottoman cultural heritage. As these locations are all outside the main tourist centers, you will also have the opportunity to experience local daily life.
The first stop is the Süleymaniye Mosque, which was built by order of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and designed by the great Ottoman architect Sinan. Construction began in 1550 and was completed in 1557. The mosque was partially modeled on the style of a Byzantine basilica, particularly the Hagia Sophia, which was perhaps a deliberate attempt by the sultan to create a symbolic connection with the city’s past.
Driving along the city walls, we will arrive at one of the oldest and most important churches in the city – The Church of Chora. The church features fascinating wall paintings that depict the life of Christ in historical order. Though the building itself is small, it held great significance for the Byzantines, as it was located at the city’s borders and served as a welcoming place for visitors. Today, the surrounding area has been restored, making it a great place to spend time with local artisans and admire traditional wooden houses.
After the church visit, we will have a tea-coffee break at one of the most splendid spots in Istanbul, offering a breathtaking view over the Golden Horn – Pierre Loti Hill. Then, we will continue our journey, driving along the shores of the Golden Horn, passing through the historic districts of Fener and Balat, which were once Greek and Jewish settlements. The Fener Orthodox Patriarchate is also located in this area.
After lunch, our next destination will be Dolmabahçe Palace, the last residence of the Ottoman Sultans, featuring 365 rooms and 22 salons. The palace is renowned for its grand collection of European antiquities, exquisite furniture, and a massive 4.5-ton chandelier.
This will be our final stop. After the visit, we will drive back to your hotel, marking the end of the tour.
